That's what I Wanna do on a cheap kite-boad set-up, (under $5K) since
i don't have a one hundred million dollar budget, like these guys !!!

If all u want is to go 45 knots in 20 knots wind, all you need is a butter flat and proper wind. I know where I live it's illegal to create sand bars or tidal basins by hand something about the environment and sand pipers or something, but you might be able to do it where you live check your local laws of course, but if it's legal you can just rent a back hoe, dig a long trench behind the beach and get some nasty speed runs in.

didn't they just have to postpone the race because it was a little over 20 knots, which was too strong?

so all we need is more than 20 knots of wind :)

one of the sailors on artemis died, this is before the sailors really knew what was going on with those boats, so they lowered the wind limit. Today they could probably take them out in 30 or 40 knots and sail them at speeds over 70 knots the boat can go that fast. The kiwis won't agree to a wind limit increase because they are better in light wind -- oracle is better in heavy wind.

Let me put it This way dyyylan :
How FAST can you go in a 20Kt breeze , (or 23mph of wind) ?

Well --------------------------- i wanna go Faster, ( a LOT Faster ) !!!

And i don't really care if the gains diminish as the wind increases
to lets say 30Kt. In other words, 18 to 20Kts is my target wind but
it should be able to handle a 30Kt , like my 13M -- Ozone Edge can.

Almost sounds like i Already Got the kite ; i should be looking at
some type of New & improved foil-board that has a bunch of stability ?

Why would you want to go 45 knots, a crash at that speed will rip both your prosthetics off.

I'd be happy to go 20 knots in 8 knots of wind but going 40 knots in 16 knots of wind just sounds like a recipe for pain.

I had to read the topic title to figure out if you were being cynical or not.

I'm Not an AC72, and the wind doesn't stop building when it hits 20Kt at Mohave ; that
is a good average though, but it Must be able to handle 26kt as well, as we usually don't
get more in summer.

The ONLY way i could be accused of failing, is if i Don't "TRY" !!
No-one else has ever come up with a solution so i'd still represent the Status Quo.
Personally, i wouldn't be too proud of That. Like the shitty legs they gave me, more
of that "State of the Art" stuff ...
and i snapped $120,000 worth of them so far. I'm testing some home-builds now
that should do Better, (i Hope). If i break them, i'll just Try again.

Not only do i Want the SPEED ; i need to do it in 2.5ft chop, or 3/4 of a meter.

The wind limit was imposed after the guy died in a capsize earlier on in the competition.

Here is a GOOD article on
The death of America's Cup sailor Andrew 'Bart' Simpson .
From SFGate , Saturday, June 29, 2013 :

http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/T ... 638584.php

NOT sure why --Kite2Heaven-- got so pissed at the yanks, but the article is Well worth
your time to read.

As for me, i kinda lost interest in this thread thanks to (Mr. Heaven), so
i'll go elsewhere to compile the info i need in-order to build my Go-Fast machine. I finally
made a design worth saving on my fake-legs, so dreaming of going FAST will become
my New obsession & i won't stop till i got something Faster than what's currently available
in the wind-range i want of 13 to 30 mph.
