Seems like soon race boards will be obsolete... What do you think?

There's still things yet untried on planing boards.

Look at how pontoon airplanes reduce drag on water, and
flying boats like the Catalina ; they use stepped hulls to reduce
friction and some are good for 80 to 100mph. Then there's hydroplanes
and so on, all good for 150mph + . And behind and in front of the "step", they
do other stuff also to keep the water from attaching to the s hulls ; haven't
seen any of that stuff tried yet.

So i wouldn't give-up yet !!

America's Cup?????

Looks like it might be going that way, but for some it's not possible to even ride foils effectively.

A few problems with foils. Shallow water. Weeds that play havoc on long efficient fins will eat up a foil.

I have to say though they look intriguing to say the least.

Why aren't foils allowed in IKA racing, since it is also in America's Cup?

One of the class rules states the max lenght of fins cannot exceed 500mm.
This rule was established in 2010/11 to pretend development of crazy & expensive fins as it had happened in Formula Windsurfing (a 70cm g10 blade worth tons of $$$)
