USA manufacturers of ski foils... how different can they be? Worth a call?

http://skyski.com/store/cruizer-foilboard.html

Edit... I contacted Skyski and this is what they said...
Thank you for your interest in Sky Ski Hydrofoils! Both our stand-up model hydrofoils have been used in kite-surfing applications for over 10 years now, but we’re not real well known for it. The biggest group of foiling kiters we have are out of Puerto Rico, where they choose our foils over the carbon fiber models due to their stable flight and durability. Check out this video!

These windsurf fins are designed to reshape when load is put on them.
The principle may have a future for self-adjusting hydrofoil wings.

MHl quoted me $2200 for complete board and foil for $1750 foil only (plus shipping). Is it possible to mount this foil to and old surf board? or maybe my slingshot glide?

They charged me $1800 in April for the board and foil. You can mount it to any board, just make sure you reinforce the mounting area. Most boards are foam cored. I found the MHL mounting to be too far forward for my taste. I am looking for an alternative board for better balance.

YOU DONT WANT ANY FLEX IN A HYDROFOIL, SO THEREFORE, DO NOT COMPARE THEM TO WINDSURF FINS.

A FOIL NEEDS TO BE STIFF TO OVER COME UNDERWATER PRESSURES. THERE IS SO MUCH GOING ON UNDER THE WATER THAT IT IS BEST TO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. THERE'S JUST TOO MANY VARIABLES.

UNLESS YOUR DEALING WITH AMERICA'S CUP TECHNOLOGY, YOUR WASTING YOUR TIME. EVEN IF YOU ARE DEALING WITH THAT TECHNOLOGY, YOUR STILL WASTING YOUR TIME. HERE'S WHY; A RACE BOAT IS FINE TUNED TO THE KILO IN WEIGHT. ONCE ALL THE CONFIRMED DATA IS ENTERED INTO THE CALCULATION, YOU HAVE SPECIFICS TO MONITOR, PREDICT AND DETERMINE FOR PERFORMANCE.

HOWEVER, IN THE SPORT OF KITING, YOU HAVE DIFFERENT PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT WEIGHTS, HEIGHTS, STYLES OF RIDING, ETC. WHAT WORKS FOR ONE PERSON CANNOT NECESSARILY BE PREDICTED TO WORK FOR ALL IN THE SPORT OF HYDROFOIL KITEBOARDING.

JUST GO RIDE... OR RACE.
