New pad compatibility?

Postby milous master » Wed Sep 25, 2013 12:32 pm

Hi Guys/Gals, i have a 134 flyradical board. I love the board but hate the straps! can i put on new pads and straps from other makes? Or just straps? (i have no problem with the pads) or would only flysurfer ones fit?
The current lace type straps broke on one of the first outings so now tied with baling twine! also the strap pinches the side of my foot so have to get rid of!

Yes. If you want. No.

I love those straps. On my new Ocean Rodeo board, I hate the straps... wanna swap?

Don't know what bindings are on ocean rodeo Kamikuza and their site does not mention bindings! Plus i think Japan is a long way from ireland, mind you the shipping would still probably be cheaper than new bindings

Zigackly. Shipping will be around $30, I'd guess.

They're velcro straps, but don't have the additional padding on the instep area that I'm guessing is pinching your toes. Generic design... I've also got some CrazyFly straps that are the same design, also brand new.

Look like this -

there's 2 different sizes 6.5 inches (old) and 6 inches (new). You can use the 6.5 straps in any board but you might have to drill or poke a hole, the 6 inch straps usually have about half inch extra slotted opening in the pad. That's the only thing you have to worry about, if it's 6 inches or 6.5 inches for the pad, usually you can mix, but if you want to make it match exactly measure your insert spacing and get some that match it, 6 or 6.5 inches. Boots are all gonna be 6 inches, those you need to have the 6 inch insert spacing. Then there are those track systems like north and slingshot have, those you might have to match exactly. I haven't used one of those track system boards yet.

Straps. I like the pads, don't like the straps.
