Hi Everyone..
Heading to Sardinia early October. Can't find a lot of info but was going to try Porto Pollo area.
Does anyone know if this would be a better spot than the South West in October.
Windguru giving very light there at the moment. I am not carting all my gear so will be renting.
Is renting an there option? Wheres good to stay?
Would be thankful for any help. Will have a car.

Hi, I was in Sardinia in July and didn't have much luck, but two years ago I got really good wind 15 knots to 40 knots sessions. Many spots along the coast, but I'm not a local. Check out the blog I published a while back on my July trip and you'll find a fair bit of info. Local knowledge is always best of course.

There are many spots and info on

Thanks for the info lads.
I will watch Windguru while I am there and play it by ear.
I will be accompanied by non kiter so can't really go haring around at the drop of a hat...
Going drive over to Porto Pollo and talk to Wet Dreams and have a look.
Thanks for the link Ced and thanks Toby for your link and input (and thanks for the site too

Hi ,no worth going now,we are waiting too for good conditions,at least a couple of days of good mistral is needed on that area to have good session.
low season now plenty options to stay ,more or less they ask 200 euro an apartment for one week in Palau(10 min. from P pollo)
for renting you should ask local naish and north kite school ,once was some expensive do not know now if they have and prices .better bring your own kite ,much easier rent the board.
do not go that area with other wind directions than mistral ,otherwise with scirocco better chia area(south).
car is a must.
waves in marina delle rose ,ciaccia ,capomannu (mistral or libeccio)
chia (scirocco)
flat water porto pollo(mistral) la caletta(scirocco) in the north area .cannot say much about south or south west I leave in Palau in summertime.
anycase do not move now, wait forecast, october unpredictable
ciao

Hey Piccio
Thanks for that info. Much appreciated. I will look at your email for reference when I'm there.
I will look at a map and learn those wind directions. Hopefully things will improve next week.
Don't want to bring too much gear but might bring my 12 Switchblade..would that be a good bet?

chek SARDEGNA ARPA site
carte di vento page( for wind directions)
stato del mare page (for waves height)
12 mt in p pollo will be too big monday and ok thursday
driving west from porto pollo you find always 8 10 knots less on next spot Marina delle Rose(waves) and Vignola
so you could use 12 if ever is too strong in p pollo.
otherwise with south wind from 11 am to 4 pm usually good termal in La Caletta flat to choppy waters.
CAPO d'ORSO rock and SANTA TERESA have to be seen before leaving .
ciao
