It's far easier to ride without straps as you can move your feet more easily. A board leash minimizes the time spent body dragging.

Straps are what makes things possible on a kiteboard that are not possible on a surf board - which is a thing you paddle with your arms. Why limit yorself.
If you want to go surfing you should lose the kite too.

I'm pretty new to kiteboarding and the only thing I don't like about it is the way everyone seems to look for approval from other sports. I personally don't give a s**t what surfers and wakeboarders and sailors think as I'm happy being a kiteboarder.

Don´t think is about having approval, is about getting inspired as all those sports got years in advance and set much of the standards kite is trying to achieve

A quick example outside the wake/surf debate - how could the industry present itself as a high performance sailing in front of ISAF, and try to get into the Olympics and all that, if then all the guys competing fail to care about tactics at all. The claim would never be taken seriously.

Same for the wake or the surf side of the sport as it´s not only about the international governing body, but also about attending public, media and sponsors

Please loosen the straps..would be the title of my thread...

Because by doing so and having correct width... it will feel like you have none....really

Stylish is tweaked 20 footer table top with downloop transition to toeside landing on wave face

Some moves boosted big on TT in the surf just look out of place and score low for style

All huge moves and transitions landed to toeside are why we love that extra traction & leverage

I ride mine strapless! Why? I was to lazy to put them on. They're lost somewhere in my basement collecting dust. I guess a lazy,55 yr old can be cool and stylish , even if it's because I literally "lost the straps" default. :winner1:

They clashed with the color of my boardshorts and wetsuit, so I took them off. The straps, that is...
