Still a proud windsurfer here. I love kiting and may even concede it rivals windsurfing.
But kiting is handsdown the king of knuckleheads heads and acts of stupidity.

Don & Kami...

I'm fairly Certain , that neither one of you, OR --- at-least 98% of All the
kite boarders on earth, would NOT follow the windsurfers out on Mohave
down close to the dam near Katherine's landing Arizona, when it's Nucking !!!

The wind will bounce off the vertical walls of the narrow canyon on those 45kt
days and will make water-spouts. Those crazy windsurfer Dudes will
use them for turn-pylons !!!

A kiter would DIE down there ; that's Why we kiters go Way up to
the South end of lake Mohave, where the wind isn't nearly as Radical
or strong. I've kited down near Katherine's, in the low 20Kt winds, and
it was Still Nasty !!

Windsurfers most Definitely Have there place ; they can be used in an
environment that a kiter wouldn't even Think of going !!

I like having the option of windsurfing in high winds(35mph plus) or offshore conditions. If its nuking I'm going windsurfing.
