In the morning the unexpected wind was strong enough to run the single elimination in freestyle. We saw some great action from the women and men on the water.

The day started with the skippersmeeting at 10 am. Suddenly the wind picked up and was strong enough to start the first freestyle heat at 10:30. With cross on shore winds of 15-20kts, British Freestlye Champion George Dufty took an early defeat against Alex Rodriges, which set the stage for a day of upsets. Riders took to the water on kites ranging from 13m, down to 8s for the women, with varying strength wind through out the day. There were many exciting heats, including Stefan Spiessberger who narrowly took the win over Paul Serin, with a score of 24.7 against Serins 23.9, and also Sabrina Lutz who lost marginally to Annelous Lammerts (current European Champion). Current vice World Champion, Alex Pastor put on a great show throughout the day landing incredible tricks in the tricky choppy conditions, including SMobe 5s, front blind mobes, and even tail grab KGBs. Lammerts continued to look good, with some very nice sbends to blinds, allowing her to take the win in the womens Single Elimination final against Therese Taabbel. The mens final was set to be an epic, with Alex Pastor against Stefan Spiessberger. With dropping winds, the riders struggled to stay upwind, and Pastor performed a few tricks outside of the competition area. Stefan showed his dominance of the day with a powered shifty 315, Blind313, front to blind, melon back to blind, and an smobe. This was enough to defeat Alex Pastor and take the win. Mario Rodwald performed really well as well and won the loosers final againts Valentin Garat. All over all the day was successfull for the freestylers. The wind dropped to 5 knots when the boatcrew was ready to set the course. Finally with shifting wind we managed one race today, won by Florian Gruber, followed by Julien Kerneur and Ivan Doronin. Astrid Berz from Switzerland won the only race of the day before Anastasia Akapova and Jade O'Connor.

We finished the day with a nice Paella and a camp fire.
