I guess this kite could be nice for freeskiers. Light full size depower kite and backback which turns to harness. That's why I though it as interesting. Very little extra weight when skiing down.
Another interesting concept would be speedflying wing which could be turned to kite. I know some people have used speedflying wing as a kite (extremely short lines) to get to the peak. But having wing with longer lines and looping ability could be nice.
