Postby ChuckDean » Sat Oct 19, 2013 9:24 pm

I've recently had a mishap with my Evo where the elastic part of the tunable pigtail snapped.

thnks!

Hi,

You mean these?
bungy-fuse-2013-2.jpg
I've got them made locally here at my local kite repairer. My original North bungies snapped after only 2 months.
The ones made by my kite repairer seem to hold. They are slightly (but only slightly) thicker.
North- do you copy?

Here is another problem which I also reported to North but did not hear anything back either.
One of my flying lines ripped apart after 3 months. The problem is the very sharp cut of the little plastic hose which sits on top of that (you might want to zoom in to look at it).
I hope they will address that issue too in the future. My local kite repairer fixed that too.

I asked several of our guests with North kites and it snapped on quite a few of Evo and Fuse kites during a 2 to 3 month's period. Maybe a bad patch or different material used?
Hopefully North will respond to these matters.

Anybody else had their line snapped due to this sharp plastic hose?
You might want to check your lines there before it is too late.

Cheers

Thanks for the info :thumb: ,I have not heard about this issue.
Checked mine and both lines look fine with no indication of the plastic rubbing through the lines. But I was thinking maybe I should trim/cut the plastic back a little so the plastic is clear from rubbing on the lines. Any thoughts on this modification?
Hope it did not happen in the middle of a big boost on the Fuse Caesar.

I was on my way up when it occurred. The kite looped but I got it quickly under control. No damage to the kite. :)
Here is a shot of the lines after the repair. No more plastic hoses there. What is the purpose of them anyway?

Maybe Dan from North can explain the purpose of the plastic sleeves?
Would be appreciated.

Really "Caesar"!!!! After all the problems you gave to EPIC kites now it's NORTH. Come on...get a life. North is a great company. But like I said before no body is perfect.

You better get a life and stick to your Epic hype.

North is a great company, that's why I switched from your Epic crap to them and just ordered more North gear.
I'm sure they (and other North customers too) are happy that problems which might arise are published so they can be rectified. That's what is a kite forums for. I did not say a bad thing about North.

On another note- I didn't want to comment on your Epic tread about the hype that the Screamer jumps highest and has the best hangtime. That guy better go onto a 2013 Fuse and reports back.
I doubt anybody who is looking after the best jumping machine switched from a 2013 Fuse to a Screamer (I know a few people who did the other way 'round though).

Have a good one Dimitri! :bye:

What ever you say Caesar :thumb:
But the point is…that there are parts that fail occasionally.
This is the same lineset that was supplied to many kite companies including Epic, North, you name it.
What makes you different…is that you complain about everything that YOU BREAK.
You want to make jokes on the Epic threads, then don't whine like a babe if I post here, so people can see what you are all about.
:D

P.S. Sorry guys for jumping into this thread, NORTH is a great company and I am sure they will help you resolve this issue especially Dan who works with North.
