KTA News:

Cook Islands join the KTA Race Centre Project

The KTA Race Centre project is something that just ticks away there quietly in the background across a number of countries now in Asia giving kiteboarders the chance to experience and learn what it’s all about when it comes to riding the demon race board. The success of this is now to be seen as for the first time the IKA World Course Race Championships will be taking place in Asia next month at Hainan in China http://www.kingbay.cn/Kb Asian riders from all the countries supported by a KTA Race Centre will be represented, if they will make it into podium positions by the end remains to be seen, but seeing so many local riders make the grade to be there is reward enough it its own right.

So it’s very exciting for us to announce the next stage in the ev0lution of the KTA Race Project as it opens its doors for the first time outside of Asia with the founding of the first partnership in the Pacific Islands, the Oceania Sailing region of the world.

So welcome to the KTA Cook Islands Race Centre it’s fantastic to have you guys join the project. The centre in the Cook Islands has been made possible by support from the Cook Island Kitesurfing Association http://www.cookislandskitesurfing.com/ and is be hosted by Kites Up at Muri Beach in Rarotonga.

You can check out all the details for the new centre at http://www.kiteboardtour.asia/race/kta- ... k-islands/ So whether you are a local rider who wants to learn to ride and race on a formula kiteboard or if you are a kiter thinking of visiting Rarotonga, you now have the chance to try it all out. So give the Kites Up crew a call and get out there on the water. Remember too, armed with an race board even those lighter wind days open up to become a full day on the water, so it’s a no brainer really.

We have already seen the racing talents of the Cook Islands in action during the TT racing at the Manureva Aquafest earlier this year and now with the support from the Cook Islands KTA Race Centre we look forward now to seeing Cook Island riders in future World Championship competitions, so no pressure guys…….
