What Does Texas Have To Offer !

Postby Captain_East » Sun Oct 20, 2013 5:10 pm

Dear Wind Brothers, My good friend just landed in Dallas, Texas. And we have decided to buy a golf travel bag and fill it with kiteboarding stuff :). If you're familiar with the area kindly let me know best shops or places we can find good deals or maybe throw me a link of a store who can ship to Dallas within 10 days.

Wanted:

1- Shinn Monk Forever 2013 (136x44)
2- Two Brand wetsuits (L) budget 500$ for both
3- Mystic Warrior Harness (M)
4- Golf Or KiteSurf bag that would carry 2 kites and 2 boards and 2 wetsuits. (recommend me one if you can please.)

Kindly let me inform me in any way you can help about these stuff or other tips about Dallas :)

Dallas was not able to support the shops that tried there.

XL Kites in Texas City/Galveston (280 miles from Dallas)
ProKiteSurf in Corpus Christi (412 miles from Dallas)
South Padre Island Kiteboarding on South Padre Island (560 miles from Dallas)
Air Padre on South Padre Island (560 miles from Dallas)

There are a handful of good lakes to kite in Dallas.

Thanks for your help. I've seen one of your posts before about Monk forever.
I'm 5'9 , 180lbs and I do ride 2014 SB 12m , LF 130x39 .. the board is giving me hard times specially when it's not super flat .. I'm looking forward to buy a monk forever and I'm thinking about the 136x44 because I'm still a beginner I can barely pop.
spot: Egypt Red Sea (12kts - 25kts)

What do you think?

I think the 134X42 Monk Forever, if you want a little extra planing surface.
The Monk Forever 136X44 is pretty big for 180 pounds, beginner or not.
Another really good choice for you would be the Shinn Red 135X41.

I'm started to be convinced about the smaller one but still wanna know . Is it really a huge difference? Like what's the big disadvantages of the 136X44?
Forgive my ignorance I just started to pop this season :D

At your weight, what would normally be right is the Monk 132X41
A 44 wide is a lot of board width for your weight.
Harder to hold an edge when powered with the extra width.
