My wife wanted to look at minivans, I resisted,
the new Honda one has a built in VACUUM!

Assuming you have kids. I resisted the mini van(aka the baby bus) also at first. But once we had it I loved it. More room, better ride, better milage, and more creature comfort than your average monster SUV...You dont get as many dirty looks from the tree huggers either.

Back seats folded down.........blue tarp on top of them... Honda Civic
Fits 2 surfboards...4 kites w/bar-lines on....2 harnesses..2 pumps
Either i drive or my wife does as we go together to our beach
Back home remove tarp put back seats back up

I've used the tarp idea,I wish there was a stock product to do the same thing. Like a one piece floor mat that covered over the seats when not in use.
I actually like the minivan idea but the new car is to improve MPG...
I really like the rino lining the whole car idea but honestly don't think it would work. Modern cars have so much wiring on the floor.
Board bag seems like a must.

Weatherguard makes custom mats.But pricey.

I have several buddies that have gone from ute back to car and they regret the hell out of it.
Get a newish ute and its pretty much car like.
