Dyno 2014 (versus Dyno 2013)

Postby DjProg » Mon Nov 11, 2013 12:33 pm

Hello guys,

I have a 2013 Dyno 15m that I really LIKE a LOT (Huuuuge airs compared to a Rebel 14m) and I'm thinking of changing for a 2014 model (well I guess we should say a 2013-2014 model as it's been released in July I think).

I'm mostly doing Big Air + Old School tricks so I really don't care about the racing aspects.

I know there is now 5 struts instead of 7 but my question is : how good is the new Dyno 2014 versus the Dyno 2013 regarding jumping high + hangtime ??

Thanks a lot !

Cheers,

PS : it's weird, from what I see in local shops it seems like the Dyno 2013 didn't sell well as it's getting sold really cheap now... too bad for such a hangtime machine.

Expect the Dyno to be more and more a racing kite.
So try 2014 before and compare it.
And let us know ;-)

Dyno 2014, looks a lot like an Ozone Edge....maybe North was a bit lazy...and knowing the Ozone edge was in a lot of case the race winner...( not to forget that the girl or guy hanging on it plays a big part too :-) it was an easy and cheap job for them....now the edge and dyno look like twins :allbegood:

I think there is some confusion here about model years. I don't think there is a Dyno 2014 yet. The Dyno 2013 came out around May 2013. Before that was the Dyno LTD which came out around September 2012 as kind of a 2012.5 model. Dyno 2012 was out around May 2012 I believe.

The Dyno 2012 had 7 struts, Dyno LTD and Dyno 2013 had 5 struts. The 2013 is bright green and has no pulleys on the bridle. The Dyno LTD is also bright green, looks very similar to the 2013, but still has pulleys on the bridle.

Where are the deals on the 2013? I'd like to pick one up to replace my 2011.

18m! :thumb: Have you tried that one Toby? I included a picture for you. (Note the wind and water conditions)

Tried the Dyno LTD 17m, but didn't like it. Very different from the 2011. LTD was definitely faster turning, easier relaunch, seemed like a little better upwind and speed on the raceboard, but you had to always watch it and make sure it didn't overfly. The 18m just hangs in the air no matter what and I wouldn't trade that for all the turning speed in the world! I've heard the 2013 17m is a good replacement for the 2011 18m, but I haven't gotten a chance to try it yet.

I also checked for a Dyno 2014, but since there will not come on soon, I bought the Cab Contra 15m.... Since I definitely wanted a 2014 lite wind kite of either North or Cabrinha

Hi,
I´m still confused wether I own a 2013 or 2014 model North Dyno 15m.
Please someone with better knowledge, check the attached S/N.
It says Dyno 2013, yet the design on the kite is exactly the same as 2014 and not 2013.
So is 2013 actually 2014
and the older design green 5 strut dyno the 2.5 Dyno (late 2012, or 2013) ?
