Re: Wakestyle: Bridle wraps are pissing me off on the 2014 P

It wasn't quite enough to use my park today, but when I was out on my ride..I'm kind of thinking it might be possible to try that bridle on the park..would make for an interesting experiment.
Considering I know nothing about making stuff for kites I am sure I would fail spectacularly.....

The bridle is shorter at least. I think the advice from juice seems sensible to me.

I have had quite some time on this kite now, and comming from a C...
Haven´t had any problem what so ever, very impressed by the kite. And I ride unhooked freestyle - handlepasses... I guess you just have to change your landing a bit - don´t go towards the kite for too long - start edging if you crash. Or maybe it´s something wrong with your kite? Do you put it in slowest setting? Might be crashing easier if it´s not.
The problem if this happens to a 5th line kite really sucks, but didn´t have any trouble with this on that eighter.

Spoke to my friend who trains in Brazil about this he said that he was having this issue on his 5 line kites some years back and that he solved it by just sitting down in the water when he missed the pass. Even though it feels sweet to ride out, from now on I'll just need to be mindful enough to sit my butt down. Hopefully this resolves the problem. :thumb:

Yeah, as I said before try to edge to keep lines tensioned. By doing this you`ll inevitably stop and fall /butt first/.
Btw,how do you hold the bar?
I`m asking because doing 2b in case the kite crashes - either you do kiteloop after passing the bar yet holding w/ back hand or your front is not centered at the bar - fingers splitted w/ depowerline...

Anyway, wish you good luck.
You`ll find the way soon...

I don't typically used the split finger hold when doing passes except when doing back mobes as I find it easier to pass the bar when the kite is a bit lower. Maybe I should change my hold now that I'm working on going into tricks with way more speed.

Low kite wake style trick=C Kite. Any other type of kite and your wasting your time. Love the feel of a torch but mine always tore up after 1 season. Try a Combat XXX. Half the price twice the kite :D

Yeah, looks like a possible issue with the bladder or valve and Naish is being way cool about it. I'm excited to get it fixed and get hard charging again :thumb:

On stunt kites that are designed to do slack-line tricks or roll and unroll, the bridles often have "keeper lines" that do not get any tension in flight but restrict the bridle from snagging the wingtips or spine when the bridle is slack. Not exactly sure how the concept would carry over to kiteboarding. Have you considered tying the part of the bridle that's getting tangled to another spot on the kite? You would have to use a keeper line long enough to never get tension while flying (to avoid changing flying performance) but short enough to keep the bridle from wrapping the wingtip. Not sure if the geometry works on that, because the dimensions are different and the kite is more flexible, but it would be a way cheaper fix than a new kite. :-)
