Hi, heading to Tabago this Jan/Feb any recommendation where to stay for cheap and be close I guess to Pigeon Point wave raiding spot?

I don't have any personal experience with Trinidad & Tobago, but I've just got back from kiting in Peru. While I was there, I met a Venezuelan guy, Freddy Vargas, who will be running kite camps in Tobago in January and February.

I can certainly vouch for Freddy - one of the coolest, most helpful guys you're ever likely to meet. I had some absolutely awesome experiences kiting with him. His passion is the waves, so if that is what you're looking for, you couldn't go wrong hooking up with him. But I believe there are plenty of flat water options, too.
Freddy certainly had some great things to say about Tobago and rates it pretty highly. I'm sure you'll have a great time.

I will be in port of Spain trinidad for a few days in November. Anyone got any tips for wind and waves? Any reasonable spots or have to go to Tobago?

I went to Tobago, Great island.
You can email local kite spot they will help you out. Radical Sports Tobago
You can pay to leave your gear at the shop which is nice.
Pigeont point is very nice, there is a big surf break way out but surfer usually go to other spot on the island, i pretty much stayed in pigeon point since I didn't really care for waves back then.
As far as hotel I would skip those resorts.
Karkwak is really nice.
For very cheap I once stayed on Golden Thisle (i literally showed up on island for weekend without booking a room lol)
I stayed in Enchanted Waters too, was nice as well.
Since I went to pigeon point every day I didn't rent a car but there are a lot of stuff to do beside kiting so depending how long you stay you can rent a car...
From Crown point I would walk or take a cab to pigeon point depending on wind

pigeon point is a great set up. I was a month early though. ...marginal wind. Had some fun sup waves on the reef outside. And at Mount irvine.
Brett at radical sports tobago is an immensely helpful resource and a really nice guy. 5 star rating!
I stayed at cornado hotel....Closest place to pigeon. Mid range for tobago. Not fancy but clean great owners and staff and right on the beach.
I rented a car to explore surf but next time will just stay at pigeon (if I ever get back)
