I'm considering a 2014 Switchblade 14m. I'm 84kg or 185 pounds. Any feedback on the top end for this kite? 17 knots with a small or rockered board? How about bottom end... 9 knots with a big board?

I am exactly your weight and ride 2012 switchblades. I can ride my 14 meter on a 160 spleene door starting at 10 knots and hold it up to 22 knots on my 134 laluz without depowering. Haven't tried the 2014's but after the lousy 2013's I heard they are back to being grunty again. Hope it helps.

yes, 2014 is a powerful machine again!

FYI: It made the 1st place in the Hangtime Test in the German kite magazine... (measured with a GPS sensor)...

Just came back from a trip in Cuba where I rode my 2014 SB (12, 10 & 8m) and I was very happy to find out that the SB are back to their roots. Amazing low end and the park and ride feeling. I was riding one or two sizes smaller than most and the hang time was still amazing. The kite turns nicely but not the fastest out there when doing loops.
I was not comfortable with the 2013 SB even after many session but with the 2014 it felt right even during my 1st session. A little more bar pressure than some other kites out there but this is how the SB should be. You dont have to look at the kite to know where it is. Very very sturdy construction (among the best on the market) and very solid in the air. The bar is similar to the 2013 except for the safety line which is attached higher for a better flagging option when necessary. The relaunch is good but you have to pull the line about 2 feet above the bar to work fast.
The SB is back! Good job Cabrinha.... again!

Well, all in all i can only confirm everything what been said already.

the 2014 model is a basically "same old cool" 2010-2012 model.

I tested 14m SB on a 15-20knots on a 128x38 Radical S board.

Basically it gave me absolutely SAME feelings as my 2007 14m SB.
You can park-n-ride it with an average speed & drag.

But if you need - you can easily start to move the kite which will give you instant response in case if you need more speed... or if you decide that its a proper time to send youself up in the sky for another hand-time galore... :-)))

PS: Love absolutely everything about that kite.
PSS: Nop. Im not connected with Cabrinha\sales.
PSSS: Cant say much about the low-end wind abilityes.... as i mostly run 14m SB on 17-25knots.
