Of course it is a race :thumb:

C'mon, it is just to see HOW fast you can rig (and apart from that, what is "unsafe" when you de-rig ?), nothing but that

SupaEZ still #1, eventhough we seem to have 3 categories now:

LEI lines not attached.
LEI lines attached.
Foils lines attached (but it will take some time for the kite to inflate to rigid when in the air too, so not as factual/easy to measure.

Lets see what you guys/girls can do !

As a begginer my instructor has the kites ready for me, 2 sizes at least.so, it takes me no time at all to rig ( but takes me a lot to start riding)

Many times i will rig / pump our 2 Light wind kites
My wife goes first on her 17
4 min 6 sec off the ground...includes pumping 78 sec ( 5 seconds less than the 19m)

Now if i pump a 10 or an 8 the time i save is mostly at pumping (@ 20-25 seconds less than 19m)

But when there is more wind the time saved pumping is used making sure all is positioned perfect
Higher winds means the launch becomes more dangerous
So the time stays about the same large kites quick inflation vs medium size kites

I would definitely say that when i rig a 6 or 5 in high wind gusty conditions and self launch....
.....the time saved at pumping (@ 40-45 seconds less than 19m)...
.....does not count anymore at going fast..
....because i really really triple check everything and must launch perfect the first time

So in 6 or 5m2 conditions i take probably 3 more minutes than with my 19 for extra safety reasons

I would say that the windier it is the longer i chose to take

So to me smaller kites take more time to get off the ground 99.99% safe
Nothing is 100% safe...always be ready to eject

 :pump: :surf:

packing neatly about 6 min for that same kite with lines kept on ready for next session
If i have only one hour to kite i can spend EZ 45 min on the water :surf:
Do you still have the video you did last year rigging your 19m2? I know you weren't going for time, but that was still a pretty efficient rig and very impressive. :thumb:

I have rigged and re-rigged Riot Core 19 & Sp3 Flys 21 extensively

Since both kites have lines on ....the only difference was little effort + time pumping

Both launched at the edge of wind window...windward wingtip weighed down with sand

The 83 seconds i take to pump the 19 vs the time to get the 21 fully filled with air is pretty close

There is only a small 20-25 seconds advantage with the 21

The big difference is packing down both kites with lines on...that where 19 wins hands down

Getting the enormous volume of air out of the 21 through those 2 trailing edge cells is not fast at all

Easily takes a minimum of 90 seconds more

So tube in this particular situation is faster overall

I hate to agree with you, but I agree. Getting the air OUT of the foil does take a long time.

I once owned a 19 closed cell foil that very easily beats my 19 tube at rigging rime and packing time

Speed 2.5 DLX had 7 intake valves and generous dump valve..the long backside zipper

+2.5 on the Zipper. That Was the BEST for deflating the Speeds. Never had any probs with the Zipper. Now we have the two Peephole size deflate Flaps. :pump: :pump: :pump: :pump: :pump: :pump: :pump: :pump: :pump: :pump: :housewife: :housewife: :housewife: :housewife: :housewife: :desperado: :desperado: :desperado: :happybirthday: :happybirthday: :happybirthday:
