Need help with buying new surfboard

Postby tl25 » Mon Dec 16, 2013 1:39 pm

Hi im trying to decide between 3 surfboards. Hope someone could help...
Im a girl 55 kg riding normally in 15-20 knts with low and mushy waves. Currently im riding a traditional surfboard 5,9 strapless looking to buy something that would be good for my conditions but also to attach straps when the winds and sea pickup (25+ Knt).
These are the boards im thinking of...

1. Naish skate size 5,4
2. North whip 5,4 or 5,8
3. Axis new wave 5'4 or 5'8

I have good control with the surfboard but just beginning to understand how to ride the waves properly. Also looking to start a bit freestyle....

Thankss

You might want to think about getting a beater long board and then investing in some real surfing experience (if you have not already done so...). Kites are really just like training wheels to surfers.

Took an Axis Newave for a spin the other day and ended up buying one on the spot so i def. recommend the new wave.

I've ridden the naish skater 5'4'' a lot. I love the board. It is short enough to make it easy to ride...the construction will hold up for forever for you. I never rode it with straps though, but on waves it excels until the waves hit between 9-12 ft. I ride it both twin and thruster. It is great for small and medium surf..

I do weigh more than you...personally I don't think starting with a longboard is necessary and think you'll love the board.

i rode the 5"4" Skater a lot as well and the board is reactive, almost twitchy, so be careful as a newbie to the waves. It was a fun board but alas, i broke it right between the feet on a landing. No board will last forever.
