Hello Andres,

It is also called a grab leash. If you grab it in time it may well take care of things very nicely. Then again there is that grabbing part, and whether or if you are successful. With something as potentially powerful and dangerous as a runaway kiteboarding kite shouldn't bystanders have better assurance than "I should be able to depower the kite?"

I will admit using a grab leash is a step up from using no leash at all however there have already been many kites accidently released using this "may work" system. One is described in this years volume of the KSI. I would checkout some of the new spin friendly leash bar systems that should provide "automatic depowering."
