Ozone News:
Florian Gruber 1st Kiteracing Oceanic Champs & Marvin Baumeister 1st L2L
Hi everyone,
once again another very successful Kite Racing event for the Ozone team! The Kiteracing Oceanic Championships took place from December 10-15th, at the stunning Leighton Beach in Western Australia.
In the Mens Course Racing our recently crowned 2013 World Champion Florian Gruber out classed the fleet winning almost every race securing 1st place over Olly Bridge in second, and Riccardo Leccese in third on the Mens podium. Also to note Maks Zakowski who raced very well and fought for the 3rd place podium position with Riccardo in the final races, finally ending in 4th overall.
The Womens fleet saw fierce competition between Aga Grzymska and Ariane Imbert but Grzymska proved strong in the lighter winds. Nuria Goma placed third and top Australian female kiter was Lisa Hickman from Queensland placing fourth.
A new record for kitesurfing from Rottnest Island to Leighton Beach, Fremantle was set when Marvin Baumeister made the crossing in just 23 minutes and 50 seconds in the 19km Lighthouse to Leighton race. Marvin led from the start and held a strong lead.
Well done to all riders, for full results, video highlights and press releases go to http://kiteoceanics.com/
