Next up will be the flat-water paradise of the lagoon found in Dakhla, Morrocco, March 18 – 23. Finally, Mondial Du Vent, one of the longest running and most prestigious kiteboarding events, will then take place on April 26-May 4 in Leucate, France.

The complete and official calendar for the 2014 tour season will be published January 21, 2014 with some fresh and exotic locations, as well as many of the established and much loved classic events. With so many new riders as well as returning tour veterans, 2014 is going to see many talented athletes battling for the world title.

Also, the official online voting results for the PKRA riders committee are in. The committee shall consist of: Aaron Hadlow, Gisela Pulido, and Christophe Tack.

Pertaining to rule changes, the following rules were voted in and will be implemented in 2014:

-Any Hinterberger Mobe attempt will be scored as a Hinterberger Mobe. However, if not performing a proper Raley prior to the rotation, scoring will be significantly lower.

-The number of pre-qualified riders was changed to top 12 and 2 wildcards for the men and top 6 and 1 wildcard for the women.

-Regarding the switch rule, the vote came to a tie. A such, new vote will decide this outcome.

as long as they don't count switch tricks (left and right landed) it is fine...

Marc J for 2014!

Yeah counting same trick each way dumb.

Switch is different from other board sports where switch is more prevalent because we have to ride both ways (no one rides toeside heelside always!) unlike other board sports - even then switch is becoming less of a big deal as many riders do tricks both ways and it is in their interest even -depending if wind from left to right or right to left for best show for judges to see.

I vote no to extra switch points.

I vote yes to more points for originality. It pained me to see Christophe Tack's flat 7 on a wave kicker take out Marc J in one round but it was so awesome to see because it wasnt one of the 10 tricks u see every single time during the last 7 years. The riders should decide tho.
