best purchase for 2013?

Postby plummet » Tue Dec 24, 2013 12:38 am

Me? Bigfoot kitebuggy. Not kitesurfing but kite related.

Then the light wind kiteboard a build. Ok I didn't purchase it. But I guess I purchased the materials to make it!

A paddleboard, surfing again and having a no wind alternative has kept my sanity during our lulls.

So far I'm super happy with all my purchases for 2013 minus one. Lets see....
Ozone Edges 2013 9 & 11m Love them until the waves get head high.
2 mm shorty wet suit from MEC. Awesome suit for $80
Q-Lines for a custom bar. Should have pre stretched them but good to go now.
2013 Shinn Monk to replace one I damaged.
Switch Nitro 2 12m. Not for me. Sold her.
Naish Global 5'10" surfboard. Great board and strong as nails!
And just 2 days ago I got a 8 m BWS Noise to add the the pile. Have not had the wind for it yet but I know I'll be happy.

Wow, I should not have listed everything. Thats why I'm broke. Oh well, I'm happier with the toys than I was with the paper bills.

Brand new Patagonia R3 off ebay for under £200. Well chuffed. Oh, and a thermocline vest, because I've developed neorene allergy which was driving me mental. No more itching now, praise the lord!

I bought several new kites and boards this year, however 2 items stand out with which I'm super happy!

1. Cabrinha Contra 2014 17m - this is one fine light wind fun machine! I'm glad I bought it and could my be happier with it...

2. Ocean Rodeo Mako King - this board is so much fun. It is home in waves and choppy water, but I even take it out in flat water.,. I also bought a Shinn Monk Forever this year, but I tend to use the Mako more often because it's so much fun to cruise, carve and boost...

The Ride Engine Custom harness. I bought it because I like the idea. Never expected it to be that good. Super happy with it...
