Cabrinha Kiteboarding Recalls H2 Binding

Postby Johnny Rotten » Thu Jan 09, 2014 1:22 pm

Ran across this on the consumer product safety commission website whilst looking for something else.

http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/2014/Cab ... 2-Binding/

Seeing stuff like this makes me think this industry is starting to grow up a little. (at least the larger companies) and are willing to to step up and fix their problems that could potentially lead to someone getting hurt. Kudo's to Cabrinha

Despite the bad press that often accompanies recalls, I respect companies more that do them vs those that don't. It's also in the companies best legal interest to do so. Doesn't appear to be a ton out there (62) in NA but if you're one of them, get it fixed.

Also posted on cabrinha's website.

This was launched on December 31 so it's pretty fresh, don't think it made it to this site yet but I apologize if this is a duplicate post.

I'm not affiliated with Cabrinha in anyway,
in fact I generally hate their kites due to the way they fly.

Nice to see them acting professionally about defects.

If i recall, Cabrinha issued a recall for excessive line stretch on 2011 IDS bars too so this isn't the first time they've manned up and owned a defect.

Cabrinha would have to be the best in the business when it comes to warranty & recalls. I've been told they are the biggest kite company in the world. That would also have a lot to do with it.

I'm impressed they are doing a recall. They should recall their EZ-Release harnesses that self release while you're riding.
