Not sure how the above conclusion was made but I am very interested in an evaluation of kites in sub-8 knots. Some might like to get out in 7 (and sorry if it offends anybody but it is actually possible) while others who go out in 8 or 9 might have a little interest in how their kites might perform if it drops off a little. Sub-8 performance is of great interest to me.markymarc wrote:It is proven in various tests that no kite will make you riding below 8 knots....So forget about the 6-7 knot range..
I would almost bet that the Fat Lady G2 would weigh less due to the narrow leading edge and struts. Too bad you could not find a demo for your test because that's the most "fun" big kite I've ever flown and would be interested to see how it compares to the latest models.
I definitely agree about the fun part... but in terms of lowend, it just doesn't play in the same league as the others...iblocalsurfer wrote:I would almost bet that the Fat Lady G2 would weigh less due to the narrow leading edge and struts. I know the XR3 17 is "not" in the test but i just weighed it at 4.50 kg / 9.90 lbs...
We are flying them as much as possible, but oddly enough we have either had really good win or very light gust wind, which is hard to test in. Wind looks better tomorrow. So we have gotten some upper wind testing done.14ToeSide wrote:Any reports?
