Interesting stuff. Hood River is in Oregon, however. Not Washington - as the graphic suggests...

Always wondered if there is lots of gear on the second hand market does that signify less desirable product that people are trying to offload. Surely if your gear is great you wouldnt sell it within a year or two. Or is it just a reflection of higher volumes of polpular brands. Anyone else thought this?

At the prices I see late model North and Cabrinha kites listed for I don't think anyone is trying to unload them. In general, I think this infographic is mildly interesting but not that useful since we don't know what the kites actually sold for, or even if they sold.

Interesting to do a comparison with different countries. See which brands are more embedded than others.

The listed kites, 2011, 2012.... About the time a lot of crew sell and upgrade. It's a measure of the most popular brands/kites as the more bought the more will be sold second hand. A two year old kite from any brand ridden in a normal season here is getting pretty thin!! But there are always those good deals out there...

Mates show mates, word of mouth at a local scene/s is the most strongest driving force for sales.

Then certain brands / kites reach a threshold and become embedded in that kiting culture.
