The 8 will hopefully make it over to WA in time for the Kitestock event too.

Mmm winds will be dropping soon..but yeh 8m at kite stock could work if the wind gods are on out side. Such a stupid time of year to have this event don't you reckon. Everyone's bought their quiver, seasons all but done then the retailers and kiters get together to have fun and look at kites. Never made any bloody sense to me.

We have a quiver of SURF's due in any day soon in the UK....just in time for another stormy week too! It has been pretty solid wind and waves wise this past month or so and not too cold either.

My mate 9lives two days ago..6.5m Renegade :thumb:

Hey windsuks you need hurricane conditions to get a real test of the durability of the EPIC kites. But that is a great picture. :thumb:

Any way guys just remember the S U R F (8) is a very powerful kite. With 15 meter lines I was able to kite on my surf board in (12 to 16 knots). The only problem was that I had a hard time staying up wind. So I decided to do a down winder. I should of used the 18 meter lines.

The SURF kites arrived here and we were pretty keen to try them out but the wind died when we got to the beach, I pumped up the 13m Renegade whilst the rest of the guys pumped up there biggest kites also. It was around the 14mph at the time.
I then thought I'd at least just fly the kite to get a feel for it as I had tried a very early proto type of the kite....which quite franky I told D it was shit!!
It was so so slow and heavy on the bar.

8m Surf or an Infinity??

Anyway I was surprised how powerful it felt so I thought I may as well give it a go...I know I know I am biased ( we distribute Epic in the UK and are very much dialed into the feel of Epic) BUT....man this kite really did surprise me, first off I flew way up wind whilst the rest were closer to shore struggling on way bigger kites, it turns SO fast too! I didn't really get a full chance to see how it drifts as the winds were pretty light for most of the time, however a sqaul did come through which hit 30mph plus and I was still fine.

I did wonder at times why a dedicated Surf kite when the Renegade (especially the new 4G's) are so good in the waves already, however after just one session I know which kite I will be calling shotgun over mrs.blast!!

ps I used the standard 22m lines and it still felt super quick, can't wait to try it on the 18m lines also supplied with the kite.

Plenty of wind and swell due this coming week, can't wait!!

Nice video Marc, your shooting just keeps getting better.
Can't believe you were out on an 8M with an Infinity flying there too, must have a bit of bottom to it!
The Surf is a good looking kite, graphic is nice, oddest shape ever.

Cheers fella,
Yup pretty damn stoked so far with it, way beyond my expectations tbh!
Most were on 12's, I pumped up a 13m Renegade as was convinced I'd need that much just to get going but when I put the 8m up just to fly it I was very surprised. You can see how light it was when we made our way to the waters edge.

Can't wait for some decent wind/swell now to try the 5m and the 8m on the 18's
