Cabrinha lock collars

Postby pecmajor » Fri Jan 31, 2014 3:14 am

I can not figure out how to remove the lock collars for the sprint tubes to the struts on my cabrinha convert kite. Any tips and are they reusable once you get then off. One fell off while I was riding kite deflated and I replaced it with a zip tie but I would like to check the rest of them.

They suck to try to get back on. Slide the lock over the tube and leave a few milimeters at the end uncovered by the lock. Start putting the tube back on the valve and sorta pull the tube above the lock as you try to put it in place. Stretching the tube at that time makes the diameter smaller allowing it to fit over the valve and under the lock. If you pull/stretch to much it will slip out. Hopefully you get as close to factory as possible.

There is a bit of skill involved but at 6 minutes it shows how to get the collar back on. You have to make sure you are putting them on the right way round. They are easier to slide off than get back into position.
