Day 1 of the Formula Kite South and Middle American Championships saw ideal racing conditions with winds averaging 16 knots in crystal blue Caribbean waters.

4 races were completed for both men and women with Riccardo Leccese (ITA) taking all wins in the mens fleet and Katja Roose (NED) having an almost perfect score with 3 out of 4 wins.

Best South/Middle American Sailors are Beth Lygoe (LCA) in 4th position and Wilson Veloso (BRA) in 5th position.

1. Riccardo Leccese (ITA) 4 pts
2. Maks Zakowski (POL) 11 pts
3. Julien Kerneur (FRA) 11 pts

WOMEN
1. Katja Roose (NED) 6 pts
2. Astrid Berz (SUI) 11 pts
3. Aga Grzymska (POL) 13 pts

Racing continues until Saturday the 8th when the South and Middle American Champions will be crowned.
