Hi,
I'm going to Englewood Florida during the 2nd week of March.
- Are there any kite spots in or near Englewood?
- Is this time of year good for kiting there?
- Florida is highly regulated. Do I need any sort of certificate? (I'm an advanced kiter and my wife is an intermediate.)
- Any other information would be great.
Thanks in advance,
Adam

Englewood is between Fort Meyers and St. Pete. Plenty of riding to be had. You can ride any direction from some spots near the Skyway Bridge. Probably ok in Englewood too. Stay out of swim areas. March is usually a great time of year for wind though maybe not Englewood itself due to off shore winds. There are only 2 spots in all of Florida that are regulated and both are in Miami so I'm not sure where you got your info.
Another better place for info on Englewood would be

Thanks noel,
Just looking at some forecasts for Tampa and Fort Myers area using ikitesurf and a few other sites. It's not looking very windy. Are the forecasts usually accurate for this area, or do they underestimate the wind? What size kites to bring to Fort Myers? Thanks again.

You can't trust anything further than 3 days out. 12m and 9m would be best to bring but if you can bring a big kite, bring it to.
