A reminder that anything can happen maybe... For sure better off staying downwind of other vessels usually but dont know full details yet.
Sounds like a very nasty thing to go through if those who helped are being offered counseling. Hope they make a full recovery!

Well that sucks. Wonder what the situation was... hope he wasn't being a jackass.
Similar thing happened in Oz recently, but it was a powered boat that sailed into the kiter

that's awful...terrible for all involved.
The Oz one from a few months back....I vaguely recall something about the props grabbing the lines and pulling the kiter towards the props....and somehow avoided. Stuff of nightmares, in the time that you see it coming, but can't do anything to stop it.
<shudder> Be careful out there everyone, live to kite another day!
