hi all, we are 3 aussie girl kiters heading to brazil for sept/oct and are wanting to continue our kite trip for a few more months as its so far to get to from the land down under. we're not real sure where to head to after brazil, you have to have a ticket out of brazil to get your visa so what would you suggest fellow kiters? carribean looks good, does anyone have any info re: wind conditions say nov to jan there. i hear the hurricane season is july/aug/sept is that right? any advice/info is greatly appreciated, cheers keryn

Stay as long as you can in brazil...it is just that good.
Then head to Caribbean.
Winds should be good from December on.
Caribbean is not cheap...so check on Dominican Republic or Colombia.
Have a closer look at San Andres Island, Colombia.
Winds Dec/Jan. just went there and it is paradise during windy months.
Check spot info here:

Hi Keryn,
As Toby mentioned, stay for the max of your 3 months visa in Brazil if you are after good kiting (and the NE of Brazil is at it's between July and January).
If you are after traveling around to see people from different countries and kiting is not your top priority, well then there might be South Padre Island. But it will be cooler up there.
Dom. Rep. - well if you are lucky, you will have a few windy days around 15 knots.
Cheers
Caesar
PS: Where DownUnder do you live?

No, hurricane season is actually 1st of June to 31st November, but the height is really
Aug-Sept-Oct.
The Caribbean winds for kitesurfing don't really start till Dec 15th and rainy season is the fall.
Florida can have it's best winds in November (as well as March). But Florida winds are frontal so you will have multiple days off waiting for perfection to come.
Maybe Northern Peru still has some wind in November at the end of their season as well.
