Flyboards Razor - An almost indestructible freeride directional board

1 fs.png
A new breeze is blowing at Flysurfer... The Flyboards label gets a new addition, the RAZOR - an almost indestructible freeride directional board. Innovative and different as Flysurfer Kiteboarding is.

Our kiteboard developer Andreas Hanrieder has developed and implemented a new concept. The Razor is a performance oriented all-purpose kiteboard device in an extremely light and super durable snowboard construction.

The three 25cm long G10 fins are responsible for the incredible upwind and light-wind performance. Each fin is solidly connected through an innovative mini-tuttle-box with the only 16mm thick board - a masterpiece of precision. The anti-slip coating on the surface of the board guarantees a safe stance during rapid foot placements, the four Velcro footstraps, in combination with the angled and very comfortable EVA footpads, round off this unique board concept.

When the RAZOR is ridden flat, it goes upwind without concessions and rushes at breathtaking speeds across the water, even in marginal wind conditions. But the RAZOR can also be ridden on its edge, much like a twin-tip. Especially for beginners on directional boards which ensures a fast learning process. Even jibes and tacks are playfully easy with the RAZOR.

Whether Cruising, Fun-Racing, Speeding, Slalom or Jumping, anything is possible... The RAZOR is simply fun - maximum simplicity and robustness with a pre-programmed maximum speed rush. Ride it fast!

Flyboards RAZOR technical data:
165cm length x 60cm wide x 1,6cm thickness
4,5kg

It will be an achievement if they have made the mini-tuttles work with 25 cm fins.

It will be very efficient compared to a 165cm twintip in light winds.

In light winds there is always a chance of the wind dying, so I think I would stick with a board with enough volume to paddle back in.

Its an interesting board though and fills a separate niche, so there may be a market for it. At £999 maybe a small market.

Yeah, on a 16 mm thick deck. :thumb:

How would these perform in chop or waves? Or are they really flat water boards?

This is supposedly a test in choppy conditions.

Can't wait to try one!

I wonder how the Razor would ride with 5" surf fins. Might be a really fun light wind wave board?

Is there such a fin available with the mini Tuttle compatability.

PS...just answered my own question. Tarifa Fin Co and Best (and perhaps others) sell mini Tuttle in various surf shapes.

Hi. I had five sessions with the Flyboards Razor and I can say that is quite different from any freerace and freeride directional boards I've ever tried. Due to the construction only my old Shinn Capri GT has some similarities but speaking about performances the Razor remains just unique. It is more techinical than a freeride board but a way superior in overall performances. Very fast upwind and downwind, tacking and jibing are very easy but what impressed me was also its jumping abilities. In this regards can be compared with the Flyboards Flyrace, a very fast twin tip that is very good in aerial tricks. The following short video shows the Razor in action:

I wonder if they'll make a split version. I would be interested in that.

Thanks for the vid. Looks quite flat? Has it got any concave built it? Would you be able put a side photo of it?
Thinking to build something like this for a looong time:)

Thx
