Here is my DIY wing collection along with the stock MHL wing set. Top DIY foil is best by far using the stock tail wing. It is fast and very docile, drives with front foot almost like a surfboard.. Second DIY foil showed promise but delaminated during a high speed broad reach. It was a little too twitchy to be fun. Third DIY foil is super fast a little unstable but fun to ride. It hums at high speed so it will not last long before it comes apart. The small DIY tail foil was a bust. Too small. All main foild with DIY tail foil felt very sensitive to pitch.
Next step is to build a slightly larger tail foil with vertical winglets and a refined main foil like the Top DIY foil. Slightly thinner wing thickness. Slightly wider center section. Slightly narrower wings outboard of center section. More washout on wing tips.
DP out!

Nice collection. What material are they made from?
How thick ?
What foil shape?
Are foil 1 and 2 pointing toward the front like foil3?
Thanks

All foils are pointing the same direction. Front toward top of picture. All are made form oak core with layers of glass and polyester resin.
The top one is the best. foil shape is an Eppler 817 at 7% thickness. The main lift is produced in the center 1/3 of the wing. The down turned tips provide stability.
The second one is ok. Foil shape is the FX 71 at 5% thickness. Too much lift on the tips causes it to fly left and right faster than I can control at speed.
The third on is really fast. Foil shape is an Eppler 817 at 5% thickness. 2 degree washout on the tips. Straight line speed is great, tip ventilation is a problem when banked going up wind.
The small tail plane is too small to be used with any of the wings. Way too pitchy.

great wings dlprince69!!
when you mean 7% root is because you used half of the eppler 817 profile?
what i mean is if you used the upper half of the wing with a camber and a flat bottom (asimetrical).
questions to fórum colaborators:
1.if wings and fuselaje are more succeptible to impact or damage, wouldnt kevlar outer Shell or kevlar/carbón hybrid cloth make a better material to use as final finish layer?
2.as general rule what is the average front wing root?
3. what about the root of rear wing?
