Hello Everyone,
Wanted to give y'all an update real quick. We have finished testing and shooting video for the Cloud C2 17m. Its been very busy here with spring break starting and my little one having pneumonia so i haven't gotten to sit down and finish the review, but its coming soon.
I will have a short written review for the Blade Fat Lady V2, as its an older kite and a new one coming in May I didn't see a big reason to go all out.
I have actually been sending the kites we were testing to The Kiteboarder Magazine, looks like they are doing a big lightwind test that will include the kites we tested and more. Did we strike up some attention for the lightwind riders of the world...

Have you tried the 19m XR3? I am curious to what difference it would make on the lowend compared to the 17XR3? SupaEz you can chime in here as well if you know my friend

Funny you ask about the 17 because yesterday with my wife we rigged 2 kites...
...a 12 Rebel for her to see if she would be powered up and as a safeguard her XR3 17
She was powered up just fine in the waves on her Whip 2013 5'4"
So i rode the 17 that was rigged up and really like it...the wind was not light at around 11-13kn
From riding the 19 so much i can tell you that the 17 turns quite faster in my opinion
The 19 turns fast to begin with...so i felt like the 17 was pretty close in fact the the 12 Rebel
My transition kiteloop tricks on my Whip 5'5" 2011 were really fun
I have ridden the 17 in light winds a few times and at 8-9kn you can track upwind
On the 19 it is 7-8kn
Now the 19 top end is 18kn.....and the 17 is 20kn.........quite easy with the XR3 for me
I have handled 21kn gusts with the 19 and have handled 24 kn gusts on the 17
We never ride with 3m. extensions..." lines" are 24m
When adding the bar leaders and the wingtip leaders length ....you get a total of 26.3 meters
Spot on review right there.I second all of it... I have a 17m XR3. Great LW kite and fast turning speed compared to its size. I bottom out at 9-10 kts (sustained) on a 154 cm LW TT board. Max out around 15kts. Anything over 15kts and I hop on my 11m Cab SB. Or if I am lazy to swap out, I will hop on my 135 CarbonKick with the 17X3 in 15-20. No more than 20kts though. Super nice kite and bar. I tried the extensions... blah. Slowed the turning speed down and didn't really lower my range. Anything under 9kts sustained and she stalled a bit. Esp in the lulls. Core claims 7 kts as the low end, but when I reached out to them, they did their testing in 7kts with pros, on a 165cm LW board, and 7 m line extensions. Winds that low Im goin golfin or mountain biking. I live up in altitude near lakes so we get 11am-4pm Thermal breezes in summer. Start out at 10kts, get up to 20kts, then die down gradually around 4pm. Winter, I go to Puerto Rico. One of my favority places to KB with no one else around! Oh... Im 170 lbs with wetsuit and geared up. Range of boards are all TT (Still learning directional) but I have the TT following boards and ranges with my XR3 LW:
135 LiteWave Carbonkick: 15kts +
146 Progressive Phish: 12-14 Kts
154 CrazyFlyCruiser LW 9-11 Kts

Did you send them a Flite to review? The last Flite 2012/13 did not make it to the light wind mag test.

Ocean Rodeo didn't have any, and I can't afford to send them one of mine.

Retarded is no longer politically correct. Mentally challenged would be less offensive.
And no I do not feel that way.

FTFY
Its not a scientific test carried out by expert testers. It may be more honest than a scientific test carried out by expert testers. I'll take it until we get something better.
