Maybe Toby could install some mechanism that renames threads going down like this into kindergarden no 1,2,3 ...
That's a stupid idea. Everyone knows kindergardeners can't count.

I don't care where you ride or what you ride. If you are into kitesurfing I consider you a brother in arms. Even if you don't. Cheers and good winds.

Exactly!

You totally got it right. This is Texas so you'll always want to bring small arms with you to your session. Preferably something automatic, maybe a converted AR-15 or at least a sawed-off double barreled shotgun.

The Travis crew doesn't mess around. Sometimes we leave bear traps out in the middle of the night in an effort to manage the Travis population. Problem is, we haven't caught one yet. They tend to just gnaw off their leg before we can put them down. I almost respect them for it, then I consider the ungodly things they're doing with the windsurfers and come back to my senses.

Is it true that in Austin you have to choose between a lake filled with some kind of wild underwater plant life called hydrilla that will pull you and your lines underwater water, possibly drowning you or taking your bar and lines. -or- a lake filled with stumps that have been known to break kiter's ribs and on occasion do much worse things to the ass?

Nice new identity BTW.

Sorry, I know I have used this pic before, but it just cracks me up. Since this post has turned into a joke, we might as well have some fun with it.

Sounds like an awesome place to be ;-)
Have a cousin who is living there at the moment. Hadn't been too keen about visiting before. But now that I know I can choose between different lake bottoms ... And then all the friendly vibe. Always being welcome to clear things up man to man :-) That's really what I had always been looking for in a holiday.

I wish it were a joke. Last year we rode pflugerville and lost one of our riders. The cops came, starflight did a aerial search, and the sheriff's department even had a boat out looking for him. He was presumed dead until we spotted a strange motion in the hydrilla and then this ghastly figure appeared!

...he's not dead, if you can call that living.

For reference, here's a shot of a typical day at lake travis. Notice this one has two legs, I think we might need to double down on the bear traps.

Note all the stumps on land. There are 10 times as many in the water. It's not uncommon for a kiter to fall at lake travis and have a stump break the rectal plane. This is known as a "corndogging".

Splatnik,

I commend the work you are doing to manage those Travis numbers but I must say you are going about it all wrong. We are an invasive non native species. We are very thirsty and tend to choke out the competition.

I think you may want to consider Introducing new non native species to compete with the current population.
