Had elbow problems too, replaced my Best HP's with Switch Elements, problem solved. Was like turning off a light switch, elbow pain just disappeared. Tried the Drifter but felt disconnected from the kite, the Reo was better with a more direct feel but the Element was better again. It's a personal choice but very happy with the Elements.

Thanks. Sounds I should try the edge and element.
Does anybody have a comparison to 2013/2014 switchblades in terms of bar pressure?

Cabrinha has always had high bar pressure although their newer kites aren't nearly as bad as their old ones.

Most Naish kites have light bar pressure. North is somewhere in the middle but in recent years they added a light bar pressure setting option at the kite and this allows nice light bar pressure.

I never understood why anyone wants to pull hard on the bar hard all the time when you don't need too. Some riders say they can feel the kite better, but with experience you can feel any kite.. no need to wear your arms out.

Just my opinion.

you guys really think the EDGE has low bar pressure? as in it does not take much force to pull back on a steering line and maneuver the kite?

are you serious?

how do you edge guys feel about the bar pressure on the ozone C4 compared to the edge.

how about Rally guys vs RPM. you really feel like it takes less effort to angle the bar on the Rally than the RPM. ??

Takoon Furia's (every year/generation) turns really fast, with medium to really low bar pressure.

Huge windrange, and excellent for waveriding.

I use the second lightest setting myself, as I like to have a bit pressure left, but still light so I can turn the kite around with one hand.

Regarding why anyone wants "heavy" bar pressure ?

Three reasons at least:

1. As said, you can feel the kite "more" so to speak, thus freestylers prefer this setting, and also good for jumping because you know exactly how "hard" you are sheeting.

2. For beginners, heavy, actually REALLY heavy bar pressure is much easier, as they will learn to sheet the kite more correct, and not over and undersheet all the time. It will balance naturally itself.

3. In really light wind, especially if waves too, you will be able to sheet the kite more correctly even if really experienced - because the light wind itself decreases the pressure/feedback hugely.

In general, the better and more experienced you get, the lighter bar pressure you will be able to handle and sheet correctly (not being said everybody WANTS that though...) :thumb:

Once upon a time I developed tennis elbow from a Naish Shockwave.
It had bar pressure that was no less than brutal.

I cured it permanently with six months of exercise and a $20 blue Theraband.
Here is the equipment and the exercise that worked for me.
You could add ice and ibuprofen, depending on your disability.

Was on the new Flysurfer Lotus yesterday and that thing has 2 finger bar pressure. Lighter than anything I have tried. Only if it's your last option perhaps. Did everything well.

2014 north rebel has light bar pressure. For example North Vegas has nuch more bar pressure ( but you really know where the kite is every time and steering response is very good). Tested rebel some time ago. And of cource Flysurfer speed 3 & 4 has very light bar pressure. But try foils before you buy - they are totally different.
