My buddy just got his. He had it out for a short session, but isn't quite sure yet. He just needs a bit of time on it is my guess :-)
Looks great tho. :thumb:

How much do you weigh? The Vanguard produces way more lift than any other non MPH boards it's size, so you can order it way smaller.

Hi all,
the Vanguard sounds really interesting. I´m just looking after something to replace my Naish Skater 5'9".
I don´t get the right model version name of the "Kite Version" of the Vanguard. Can anybody help me? On Firewire´s web pages, only the normal surf version seems to be indicated.

BTW, I can order it in Germany for around EUR 750, without fins and 3 months shipping time.
Not good...

I saw a few picks of a Timber Teck Vangaurd on FB & they look sick but not ready yet. For those lucky enough to have their VG - please put up a review soon.

I had a couple sessions on the 5-4 Vanguard. Small Southside waves in gusty holey conditions. Board feels incredible. Glides through the holes. Planes up fast. Still getting use to the wave riding. Seems to be built strong. No heal dings yet. I have it set up Quad. It feels a little skatey and loose off the top. Looking forward to driving it on Northside with some bigger wave in thruster mode.

Finally I receive my 5'4" Vanguard :thumb:
but the wind forecast looks really bad for this week :angryfire:

I don't want to use wax on the board so I purchase a NSI full monty pad
before receive the board and when install it the pad covers part of the firewire logo.
No big deal for me but for those considering to buy the board and install a full pad be aware of this..........................

Before buy a set of fins for the Vanguard I decide to first try a set of WCT fins that I already have.

Now waiting for some wind to try it....... :D

Huh that photo makes WCT fins way more swept than they actually are. Usually I hate the look of full pads but that looks sweet.

You're going to have a ton of fun with the vanguard.

Manuel,

What size and weight do you have?
Just wondering because i'm also looking to purchase the vanguard.
I'm 1,85m and 90kg
I have a north whip 5'8" as light wind board and a best spacecraft 5'10" as high wind.
The Whip 5'8" has +-26L
Vanguard 5'6" has 29L

Was thinking about the vanguard 5'4"....
