I have a 13M -- 2008 Ozone Edge, 5-line , and a 13M -- 2010 Edge, 4-line.
Both flag on a top-line, and Both are quite stable. The 5-line is easier to
self launch, and the 4-line is easier to set up.

Think i'd like to put a bar on the 5-line , that flags out on the 5'th line ; any
suggestions ? I really like the older 5-line Edge, because the speed range is wider ;
probably due to the smaller diameter leading edge.

Billie you can easily setup the switch bar as a fifth..if another bar is what you are after...which will flag out to the fifth or any north bar, but then you have that stupid high Y to deal with.

For the 5 line edge you need to change bar set up completely since they had what I used to call garage door opener bar back then. Good kite but the bar was from dumb and dumber category.

I have a 7m 2007 Ozone Light 5 line... It flies fine on my North bar...just had to adjust the centre line a bit. It flags perfectly onto the 5th line. Great little high wind kite. I imagine it would also work fine with the Edge.

The main advantage of a 5-line kite is more direct bar response...........Everything else is secondary.

Relaunching a 5 line wrapped kite takes a little practice, but is almost always successful. Mainly the thought process is to get the kite turned sideways to the wind and as much into the wind as you can. You do this by pulling lots of rear flying line, way more than the plastic sleeving on the line.........way more !

[quote="Toby"]Just saw this video...all true?[quote]

At 50 seconds when they both release for comparison...so i question that one for distances

The 5 line kite hits the water at 58 ft or 17.67 meters...is that possible using 22 or 24 meter lines ??
I assume the 4 line has same line length but looks like hits the water at @ 100 ft..@ double distance
Then the kiter 4 line gets dragged / lofted further down to 246 ft or 74.98 meters..over 4 times further

I'd really like to know what on earth they were testing, i don't get dragged more than 10-15 feet even rigged suicide with the kite not depowering at all. Maybe they got confused with their silly metric system and meant 17 feet and not 17 meters

HA ! Silly Metric system, he said ; about Par for the level of intelligence for
the guy who just wrote That !!

Why would anyone WANT to use a base 10 system , (metric) ; when the
base 12 system that Americans use, is SOOoo much Harder ? :lol: :lol: :lol:
Yes dyyylan ; i'm being cynical ; just thought i'd clarify.

You don't build much stuff & use a tape-measure, do Ya dyyylan ?

* Without using a calculator, What is 3/10th of a foot, or 30% ?
**Now , to calculate the same for a Meter ; just move the decimal point over
and times it by 3.

Silly Metric system , my Ass !!
