12m in 16 knots nope it's a dud. 2 hours on it and maybe got 8 ft off the ground best. Plus can't fully sheet it or drop like a rock. I'm selling it if you or anyone else interested. And honestly the FS took on so much water I had to open trailing edge to drain it while the chrono could still be launched. That waterproof material just keeps the inside wet for days!Tone wrote:I completely disagree about the relaunch. The Chrono takes on water a lot faster than the Flysurfer kites.Okinawa Kiter wrote:In 12 years of kiting at the place I am at now I have only seen one person wear a life jacket. Even if we are 2km out it is side onshore and would be blown back within an hour. On top of that we have no less than 12 kiters who are watching each other and there is always 3 plus kiters coming out to help a kiter down. Grabbing their kite or board and pulling them in. Helmets are the preferred choice as we have a lot of coral and kite in water where our fins hit often in low tide.
Anyways back to the Chrono. As far as relaunch goes I'd say it's the same as FS both bow tie and get water in them. The aspect ratio made no difference in fact the Chrono has more stable wing tips in my opinion. I had me lotus 12 out in 16 knots and it was very fast moving, ripped up wind but it doesn't jump at all like my speed 3 ltd. sheet in then drop out of the sky. So only sheet in 3/4 of the way now but boost the same as my SB. I'll give it some more time to try and dial it in as I'm sure there is a bit of a learning curve. On the other hand there was no learning curve on the Chrono. Just pop sheet in and up you go. Really easy to fly. I'm thinking of selling my lotus 12 m to get a chrono 12. Just so fun boosting twice as high. The FS is a very good kite in all ways though. I just want that extra lift. And as far as range goes I had my 18m Chrono with just a tad depower in 16 knots while my friend was fully depowered on his speed 3 21m so think they have very similar range.
If your 12m Lotus doesn't boost then there is something wrong with it!
Just my experience. If they can't make them all the same then that's saying something for me. Can you fully sheet in on your and not drop like a rock?
