This.
I am from an Irish family so I burn REALLY easily.
Went to Egypt a few years ago. 45-51 C on some days. P20, on once in the morning, a top up later in the afternoon and I barely got a tan.
Really impressive stuff.

There are quite a few recipes out there for making your own sunscreen using titanium oxide or zinc. Just do a search on-line.
You can mix ingredients according to your own SPF needs. I've seen where people have made their own mixture that is molded into a deodorant tube for easy packing and application.

thanks for the suggestions everyone!
I am going to try the 32oz pump of SolRx, after contacting them they were willing to sell me one when next shipment comes in next week. If that fails, I will experiment with the homemade zinc mixtures.
I have very dark skin so I am not used to dealing with sunburn as it takes alot for me to burn. The SolRx website and alot of people online claim the SolRx product will stay on with 6 hours immersion in water. I am going to put it to the test.

I saw a guy wearing a bandana one day. My funny first thought is it looked like he was going to rob a liquor store! But it blocked all the sun and seemed to work for him. I started looking around on the internet and there are a lot of similar products.

Riemann P20 looks interesting, anyone know if there's an equivalent type of sunscreen in the USA? This appears to be UK only. I don't mind shipping it from the UK once to try it but kiters use sunblock every day, if there's somebody making an equivalent sunscreen here it would be nice. I like the reviews saying it lasts 8 hours in the water, it so it would be the first I know of that does that. Can't trust reviews though. I have read reviews of bullfrog sunblock saying it was very water resistant, nope, washes off in 2 hours.
dracorp let us know how the solrx goes.

I get sunburn easely...on the water l use a cap otherwise l get terrible sunburn on my head...for the face, l use '' VICHY 50" you fub this in and are ok for the rest of the day...even when sweating you do not get this burning feeling in your eyes, as the product is really absorbed by your skin.
A big bottle gets you going for a long time, as you do not need a lot.
I use the protetion 50...Of this brand and it; s easy to apply...l think the Brand "VICHY'' is available in a lot of places...here you can only buy it at the pharmacy
Cheers dude

I have tried many different brands and the best i have found up until now is this
one:
It sort of gives you that zombie look but really stays on after hours in the water. I allways try to apply it to my face and neck 20 to 30 minutes before i get in the water and after a long kiting session or even a 3 hour surf session with plenty of duckdiving I have to wash my face with soap or use a towel to take it off.
No more smart comments from my boss or from colleagues asking me if I have just come back from holidays

I just ordered the Riemann P20 via Amazon but I didn't know it was from UK so since I am from Canada it appear I will receive it at the end of the month or maybe even in June! I have a lot of problems also as the OP with long sessions and getting big sunburn. I've tried a lot of different products without too much success after 2+hrs. Worst part for me is the lower part of my legs where I get a lot of water spray and the nose. Can't wait to try this stuff and I will get back to you here to say if it works or not. At least it is very easy to "see" if it works or not!
