Hi, does anyone know any good spots in SE Asia to kitesurf in May/June and July/August? The only place I know with good wind during this time is Bali and we don't want to do that again. Appreciate any input!
Also, is there a master list / central database of places to kitesurf around the world and when the wind is good at each place?

Unless you're under 100lbs, wind in Bali is not very good during that time. The place I would go is Sri Lanka if you want to kite. I have been to both that time of year

Wow, thank you! Any suggestions for Sri Lanka? Kite schools, places to stay? We will be heading out in 2 1/2 weeks (always last minute planners so appreciate any advice)
Your month-by-month list is seriously awesome too. Can't wait to hit up all the spots.
Cheers

Kitesurfing Lanka
http://www.kitesurfinglanka.com/ great place to stay. Leo, Dil and their crew are super nice guys.
The one day trip to the outer islands is a must. Epic conditions, a 2 hour downwinder in lagoon flat conditions..

Nai Yang in Phuket. Excellent between the occasional spell of rain, and good waves in July, August and September. Nai Harn when the wind happens to be too much South in Nai Yang.
Else Koh Samui and Koh Phan Ngan. No waves, but less rain.

Well I have to agree with user "Mede", the winds for Kalpitiya has started and it does not even stop in the evenings.
An unbeatable package for kiters with a tight budget:

otherwise just B&B =>

It really worth to check it out as flights from places like Autralia / Thailand/ Philipines / Indonesia are pretty cheap with loads of economical airlines.
If you do come to Sri Lanka, dont forget to try the famous "Coconut Sambol and Sri Lankan Rotties which are also made with Coconut and flour"
