Thinking of switching to 2 kite quiver of Rallyes. Currently own 12m, 9m, 6m from 2013. Would like to replace 12 and 9 with 10m from 2014. Would 10 & 6 quiver work? Mostly ride waves. My board is 5,9 and I weight 74 kg (163 lbs). Need to cover wind between 13 - 33 knots.
Thanks.
I've flown the 2011, 2012 and 2014 Rallys. Never flew the 2013s but I'm told they are comparable to the 2014s in range, but the 14s fly a little faster (still slower than the 2011/2012) model. So, you probably know better than anyone if you can go to a two kite quiver.
I would think at your weight, though you could do it. In the mid-high 20s you'll want to get off the 10 for a smaller kite at which point the 6 should have just enough juice to go. The only issue I see is possibly too big of a gap from 6 to 10. To give yourself a little more room, maybe consider a 6/9 combo and keep your old 2013 12M. Try not to ride it, but if you find yourself needing it you'll already have it.
That'll keep you covered for local riding when you have room to throw 3 kites in your car, but when you get on a plane you can just take 2 with you. There's no point in limiting yourself to a two kite quiver if you don't have to. It's so much nicer to have the right kite for the wind!
