Carafino: Finally an Update

Always testing go faster gear. Hence why I was prepared to travel half way round the world to get it and why Im totally perplexed as to why he asked me to do that and then used it as a reason to refuse to supply.

My issue with Carafino is he took my money then refused to return my calls/e mails, he cost me a shed load of money on a cancelled flight when he didn't deliver , he threatened me and others when I asked him about this

he seems to be a total megalomaniac who believes he invented and owns the sport, he has repeatedly lied and he rips people off. All issues he has within his power to redress.

The overstated marketing is just a side issue.

sorry i haven't read all of your posts.
but the last sentance to the post above caught my eye.

can you tell us where you work and what your job description may be?
i wonder why you even mention the chief designer of your company, as i dont belive he has been mentioned before.

i guess if you legally own a carifino board you can do as you wish with it.
however, i've never heard of 'destructive' hydrodynamic testing and would be interested in any clarification you could add.
regarding the structural tests; what properties do you intend to measure that would lead to conclusions regarding performance or durability?
specifically, what information would dispell any knowledge gained by simply riding your new foil?

That was a quote form the highly respected company Carafino contacted to bad mouth me based on what was (fortunately for me) clearly to all concerned an all too obvious total pack of lies hence why they were told to F off. The chief designer is the person who I believe to be the best hydrofoil designer/builder in the world hence why I want to keep (and I believe I have kept) my good reputation with them and why they simply refuse to talk to Carafino.

The destructive testing would be to asses its structural performance after its been tested hydro dynamically and so we can see if their hastily cobbled together and 1 week "trained" carbon composite specialists are using the right resin ratios/pre preg (I assume they are pre preg!!??) lay ups etc or if these products will simply fail 1st time out like this lot

Hi Bill. The destructive testing would be a winter project. I will ride test as well (myself and the best guys I can find). I would settle for a foil that doesn't break for starters. If the below and the statement by Carafino about how he is using 1 week trained carbon composite workers is anything to go by I'm fully expecting the destructive testing to start well ahead of schedule hence why I would take a mould.
