You should take a 7 in 10 knots and throw some kick ass handle passes like Jens!!!

Looser!!!

:P
Haha... The good thing about being uncool is that you can do exactly what you enjoy, not what other people think is cool

16m crossbow one , 2007 , close to 15-20 mph

stubborn, pussy, hard core, wakestyle....... those are all words you guys used not me. I am just pointing out the clear fact that the owner/operator/moderator of Kiteforum.com is not a kiteboarder as the rest of the world sees kiteboarding.

he does not think riding a 9m kite is fun or safe. would a kiteboarder ever say that?

yes, you need speed! But if tooooo fast, you cannot edge hard anymore.
So you have to find the right speed to do so. Look how fast I ride.
Plus, always look out for flat water, or a small or big kicker to lift off.

And you need power in the kite!!! the more the better ;-)

Make sure to have a long depower...see mine...it is very long...so I can get speed without getting overpowered, and then edge and pull the br all the way in...

Good luck, keep trying!

Thanks for speaking on behalf of the rest of the world. I, for one, disagree so there goes the validity of that statement...

Keep on freaking Toby, I like it!

I personally find a particular style is formed by passed experience. At 42 years and 14 years kiteboarding I think my style/route is formed.

Anyhow, negative vibes! Lets see some pics :-D

kami,

if my statement is invalidated by your opinion then my task is validated. Toby's style does not represent kiteboarding as a whole and because people like you get confused i will keep reminding the forum of what we are dealing with.

Toby,

same session as the picture above

Image

oop wind picked up, did i quit no i just went and grabbed my 12
Image

the wind picked up even more , too much, nope just go grab the 9

Image

so that was 07, when the wind got too much for my 16 i did not stop kiting. I pumped up the appropriate equipment and continued to ride. Was I able to just smoothly transition from one size to the next and continue to do the same tricks as easily as before, no, but I recognize that changes need be made to timing and control and work towards expanding my set of kiteboarding skills.

not gonna jump this high on a big kite

That is truly huge, for sure.

Wish every 10th session was that good.

Think this thread is to point out big kites can also jump high, not only small.

This was Monday. Not my 18 dyno, it was 25mph 12-13c was riding my old 13.5 Kahoona (slowly).

Not the biggest on here, but as you can see that is flat water with no ramps.
