It would be something like 54 mm concave, wohooho, now that would have some bite :-)

2010 mako king in twin tip mode was my favorite board - broke three of them. Always my board of choice for flat water, waves, shallows, and jumping n simple tricks. Mutant style setup wasn't for me.

2012 redesign OR widened the twin tip mode footstrap insert width. Ruined the ride for me. Too wide, changed the magic balance point, bothered my bad knee, and felt like it was setup for boots to hit sliders - sold the board.

Checked with OR and said twin tip width on the king is back to 2010 width but another said the foot straps can be moved.

OR John can you shed some light in this?

A shame the skinny is not part of the line up. For sure the most special and fun of the Makos I have tried. Any plans to reintroduce ?

Another happy Mako Skinny owner. What would a new model Skinny be like? Wood core and thinner rail obviously. The new Bliss footpads of course.

I ride the mako king ASYMETRIC and love it. It jumps great off either end and lands great too (speed 3, 21).

We didn't actually change the width after 2010 but removed one set of inserts as the Mako King has a ton of inserts and we wanted to clean it up a bit.

However, yes - the new Bliss pads and straps have a base plate that allows for an approximate 0.5" (12mm) left / right shift and will get you to within 2mm of the former 2010 stance.

Currently, no. I agree that there is a small but loyal following of the original "skinny" shape but it became a very hard board to sell when the wider versions were introduced. For what it's worth, I loved the skinny as well and now ride the 135cm board, it is about as close as you will find within the line up to the original.

I have a skinny classic. Still in good shape, but been riding strapless surfboard 3 seasons now, which is a nice change.
It was this narrow shape that made it cut chop even better, but understand how it made it even stranger to the conventional minded. It also fits in a snowboard bag, which lets me take it as ski equipment, saving money on flights.
