You can't keep the WAs in the WA section though

I'm also moving to Sydney from Ontario, Canada this October, just in time for summer :D
I have so many questions, but I'l probably have to wait to get there to really know..

Gonna be living out in Penrith or Richmond (but Penrith seems to have more recreation (i.e. Cables wake park) and social options).. and working out of UWS in Richmond. Can anyone give me the lowdown on the traffic situation, say going to Botany bay be on the weekday afternoons? or would it make more sense to go further north or south to avoid traffic. Google maps says about 1 hr drive to botany but that's probably without traffic...and I hear traffic is really bad. I ride flat water to small-medium waves, mainly to use them as kickers for freestyle-wakestyle..

Nontheless, STOKED about wind at least 3 days a week over the summer. Will make road trips as well for overnighters to other locations. Is a 4x4 really necessary to access some spots (i.e. gas consumption might not be worth it if I'm driving on roads 90% of the time)? Might try to get into some other activities which take advantage of the blue montains as well ( e.g. I see the canyoning/ climbing seems amazing). Anyone done much of any activities in the mountains?

Any info would be really great!

Cheers!

Im heading to Sydney in July, and would love to meet up with some kiters. Hey, if anyone knows of a kitehouse I could stay in and rent some gear while I'm there, let me know. My plans are to just kite around for a bit and tour the country for a month or so (but not planning on lugging my gear). If you wanna join, let me know.

Thanks everyone! The 14m will be making the trip. Just hoping I can find accommodation in Southern Sydney! SO stoked! Anyone have any good resources to get in touch with local kiters in the area aside from showing up on a windy day with a case of beer??

Cheers

Hey Farmerr
You would be quicker driving to Perth in WA from Penrith on a weekday afternoon instead of BBay. Traffic is mental. Good luck.
