X2 8 meter

For those of you who have used this kite...

what are your thoughts on it.....

I'm just about to get one and keen on finding out what I'm in for......

Allready got the 12 and plan on getting the 16 at a later date....

I ride an underground 6ft directional and an underground 141cm lunchtray.....

Hi it is an excellent kite it is still controllable in strong wind and if you need it gives you lift like the 12 m². I have not flown the ARX 7.5 m² but the 8 m² Aero and it is a bit slower but very much more stable than the Aero 8m².

I think I'll be using it quite a bit as it gets pretty windy here in Auckland at this time of year. Over 20 knots today, 25 yesterday and over 30 knots the day before... pretty smooth winds too if you go to the right spot.

I'll let you guys know how I get on with it.....

the X2 8.0 is a good choice, you will love it. And good setup with the 12.0.

fromyour experience: what is the depower range when comparing the X2 and the Aero 8.0?
And what do you mean w/ "the x2 is more stable" - no overflying?
Pls respond as I have to decide pretty soon what should become my smallest kite for the autumn heavy winds here in austria...

I must admit: I never flew the 8

But from watching a female rider using a 6 and being the 12 very fast already, I would choose an intermediate AR kite.

The 6 is not a kite. It was ridiculous. This kite is like a mosquito, everywhere in the air. Very nervous.

The 16 is my favourite with a huge range.

When I say more stable I mean the turning of the Kite and the consistent power the X2 gives you. In gusty wind any kite will over fly. The Multiple connection points on the side of the Kite give you a turning speed adjustment and power adjustment (minimal). Yes it is a very fast kite but you are still able to control the Kite.
I have not used the 6m² X2 but used the 6m² aero and yes I also thought that the kite is very fast but which small kite is not fast?

I sell them - so take my opinion and judge it for yourselves.

The X2s have a nice smooth feel in the air. The 8 is fast, but quite a bit more predictable than any other kite in this range that I've flown. I'm not sure that it is more stable than the Aero, though. It simply turns faster. Like "kite-surf", I also am used to lighter conditions, so naturally, when we see an 8m flying in 30 MPH winds, we are a bit intimidated. But if you think about it, all kites in those sizes are fiesty pieces of work. The best thing to do is to rig them with a small bar (I use 45cm on mine) and on the forward rear pigtails. Then after several sessions, you can move the lines further back if you need more speed.

The 2.6m C Quad in 25 knots is pretty scary... doesn't has overwhelming power to it but really fast....

Yeah I've delayed that 8m X2 purchase.... just had to score myself a new car as my other one sorta rusted away (too much salt spray) so the moula has to recover first...

I'll see how the 12m goes first (need to get that back from the shop first as I took it to them to sell it for me)..

and then I'll have a fair idea of whether the AERO or X2 is more suitable in smaller sizes.

I don't plan on spinning, flipping etc in 25 knots but more wake style transitions along with the odd mega jump just to scare the crap outa me...
