Hawaiis, I respectfully disagree. I have been kiting for 12 years, using Speed 3 12 m and 19 m for the past 3 years and more recently Speed 4, 10 m. I don't consider myself a great kiter, but have decent skills. I just started learning hydrofoil this spring using these kites. I have been using the 10 m Speed 4 the past few days and it is perfect. Ok, no kite is "perfect," but it works very well for me. Relaunches are 42/43 so far this season. I feel "if _I_ can learn on them, they can't be that bad." Also, I have yet to compare these kites to my Core 12 m Riot XR3 with the foilboard. When I get to the beach, I never feel like pumping. Just my 2 cents.

I understand, wind above 6 knots and below 6 knots are different ball games.

Hawaiis

I don't understand your video Speed 21 back stall. Why would be using a 21m in no wind fully depowered? Did you want it to backstall for the video?

Agree :thumb: ....i have flown (in the past) that kite nearly a 100 times in my low wind area

If the SP21 had properly tuned lines the depower strap would be all out in 6-7kn...unless...
...it was flying extended with the 6 meter extensions..then a couple inches of depower is better

I do not call that back stalling...i call that a lull of below 5kn when the kite is at an angle in the sky
That kite will drop down with back lines slack when gravity takes over because too little wind in kite

6-7kn may be the wind at head height but up above in the sky it was like swiss cheese...full of holes

Wing tips will curl a bit when there is a lack of wind and the kite goes too high into wind window

No two light wind day is the exactly same
Some are powerful...some are gutless...and some are cheesy

I would not blame the kite but simply the extreme conditions you were trying to go in

I actually was expecting to ride the surfboard because the wind was 7 knots at the beach,
After a few failed attempts, I tried the hydrofoil.
It took 3 kite loops to start planing, after the board liftoff, it was going so well powered.
It is only when I slow for the turn when the kite start backstalling.
To be honest, this is only my 2nd time with both foil kite and foil board.
It was a hand full.
My feeling is the 21 due to its size have more power once going. Flysurfer also list the S3 21m at 6 knots for low end. I think it is a great kite for more experenced kiters.
I am sure it will be a great kite for a heavier rider not on hydrofoil.
I am more relaxed with OZone Edge 17 at 6 knots.
