There was just a recent kiteboarder lightning strike again in Florida, I heard at my spot.
Serious injury, but survived.
I looked everywhere for news and link but couldn't find anything.

Hi DrLW, I followed up on your source and it seems it was this same shoreside lightning strike on a kiter on the beach near St. Augustine from 2012. More at https://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2377685
